that the amount so retained shall be forfeited by a violation of this contract
And that time lost by sickness illness or with consent shall not be paid for by the said W H Powell and they further agree if they leave the farm without consent from the said W. H. Powell they are to pay one dollar for every day so lost and they further agree to pay for all the rations they use when not at work and the said W H Powell has agreed that he will furnish them with good quarters sufficient rations and the amount per month which stands opposite their name and that he will treat them kindly and to see that they are cared for when sick
