Contract for Labor. This Indenture made and entered into on the 1st day of Jany 1866. between Robert Barnes of [[Roche?]] Co of NC of the first part, and the undersigned Freedman of the second part. Witnesseth that the said Freedman has agreed that his wife Frances shall work with the said Robert Barnes during the year 1866 and receive One Dollar per month to be paid every month. Said Francis is to cook, wash, iron, sew and doo all kinds of work in case of sickness about the house common for women of the county, she is to do her work faithfully & be respectful in her deportment.  And the said Robt Barnes, has agreed to furnish her and her children with comfortable quarters sufficient rations, and clothing the clothes to be [[?] & warm by the said Francis.
