Contract for Labour

This indenture made this & entered into day and entered into on the 2nd day of Feb 1866 between Isaac Pope of the County of Edgecomb State of North Carolina of the first part and the undersigned Laborers of the second part.
Witnesseth that the said Laborers have agreed to work for the said Isaac Pope from the 2nd day of Feb 1866 to the first day of Jan 1867. To do all kinds of Labour common to the farms of the County, to do their work faithfully and to be respectful in their deportment and the said Isaac Pope agrees that one half of their years proffits shall be theirs at the end of the present year and the said Laboures further agree the whole amount shall be forfeited in case they violate the above contract
The said Laboures are to furnish there own clothing and rations. The said Isaac Pope is to furnish all necessary teams and working implements and feed the teams and treat the Labours kindly.
