This Indenture entered into between T. B. Watson of the County of Nash and State of N.C. and the undersigned freedman of the County and State aforesaid Witnesseth:
That the undersigned freedmen have agreed to become laborers or the farm of said Watson for the entire year of 1867. To begin labor at Sunrise and cease at Sunset to do all the labor common to the farmers of the County to observe a respectable deportment toward said Watson or his agent and lost time not to be paid for except as hereinafter specified
The consideration of such labor said Watson agrees to give them the amount of wages per month as are opposite our names Also the amount of allowance opposite our names weekly issued - wages to be paid in full Quarterly. One half of every Saturday and all rainy days to be given the laborers, said Watsons Stock to be attended to in turn by the hands during holidays and [[strikethrough]] Saturdays [[/strikethrough]] Sundays.
From now till May 1st the laborers are to have one and a half hours for dinner, from May 1st to Sept 1st two & one half hours for dinner, from Sept 1st to Dec 31 one and a half hours
