Sir in receipt of Asst Supt's Gardner's letter. He desires of possession of Briarsfield Iron Works for Colony. Mr Montague, Collector of Mobile, has forbidden the transfer by Mr Dexter. You may learn the particulars from these parties. Aca Allen is in jail. I have filed charges.

Gov. Parsons sent his adjutant General to Mobile to put in a new Mayor who would accept an agency of this Bureau, I went with him and all is well. Judicial officers & Magistrate are coming in under the order rapidly, & the Governor assures me he will by Circular order them all to do so
