Col. J. H. Alexander, Agent of the Treasury Department is here, and has a large am't of productive real estate in Western Florida he is anxious to turn over. Says he knows Gov & asks me to say to you that the District of Western Florida can be more conveniently managed from this point, than from any other. The property would give me a revenue I sorely need. The Governor has, by proclamation, directed all judicial officers in the state to come in under my order assuming jurisdiction. Can a detailed soldier be lawfully employed as a teacher.
