Office Assistant Commissioner Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands Montgomery. Ala July 28. 1865 [[margin] Forwarded Fd [[/margin]] Special Order No 1 I James F. McGogy Lt and A.A.Q.M. will forthwith proceed to Mobile on business connected with this Dept and on return is authorized to bring three employees, two horses, one ambulance and such office furniture as he may be able to purchase. Lt. McGogy will return at the earliest practicable moment. Quartermasters Dept will furnish necessary transportation. II Captain William A. Poillon 68th Regt U.S. Cold Infty will on the first day of August 1865 proceed to Mobile and relieve George A. Harmount Esq Assistant Superintendent Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen & Abandoned Lands for that District. Assistant Supt Harmount upon being relieved will report to this office for orders. July 31st III U.S. Qr Master Dept will furnish transportation to the following colored persons from Montgomery to Meridian, Miss; Jordan, Martha (his wife) & the following children, John, Reuben, Eden and Robert and infant child, Prudence & infant child. July 31st IV Capt Alonzo L. Brown 50th U.S. Cold. Infty will proceed forthwith to Somerville Ala make examination concerning the necessity of establishing an office of Asst Supt of Freedmen's Bureau at that place and report to this office as practicable. Q.M. Dept will furnish transportation. By order of Brig. Gen. W. Swayne
