Circular Letter

The following recommendations of a Board of Officers convened to recommend a proper classification of Agents, Clerks and other employees of this Bureau with the amount of compensation for each grade are approved, and Assistant Commissioners of this Bureau are hereby directed to carry out the same within their respective jurisdictions from and after August 1st 1867.
One (1) Disbursing Officer for each State who shall be required to give bonds in the sum of six thousand ($6000.00) dollars, at a monthly salary of two hundred dollars ($200.00).
One (1) Inspector for each State at a monthly salary of one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00).
One (1) Superintendent of Schools for each State at a monthly salary of One hundred and fifty dollars ($150.00).-
Such Sub. Asst. Commissioners and Agents as may be necessary for each State, at a monthly salary of not less than
