The school opened in this place on the 20th of May, and has now three teachers, & an attendance of about one hundred seventy five (175) pupils. 
   Schools are much needed at several other places in my district. Land for a School House has been procured at Dayton, Marengo Co., also a lot purchased for this purpose at Swingston, Sumter Co., Both of these points now require funds to meet the necessary buildings.
