In accordance with instructions from your Office, I have the honor to forward the following "General Report" of the operations of the Bureau in this Sub District. during the month of July 1867. 

Since my last report, there have been several cases of assault and battery reported to this Office, all of which have received the proper attention of the Civil authorities; all those cases have been of a light nature, except one, where a White man named Titus, living in Marengo County, shot at a negro in his employ twice, wounding him the arm. Upon report to the Justice of the Peace at Demopolis, a warrant of arrest for assault and battery with intent to kill was issued, and the Marshall went to execute the warrant, but Titus
