The latter after I had written to the Governor to turn him out of the office of J.P. for his unfair treatment of colored people, and offending public decency by exposing himself in a state of intoxication in the public streets. This so offended Judge O’Conner that he refused to nominate any justices.
Judge O’Conner is now much alarmed for his personal safety at Linden the County Seat and I think very justly.
Details of Soldiers I understand have been ordered from this place to Eutaw and Butler, agreeably to my Suggestion to you.
No schools have so far reported this month.
