The feeling between the races is generally very good and is improving. There are exceptions however, when the freedmen are abused, but such abuses are committed by a [[strikethrough]]lawless[[/strikethrough]] worthless people and by those who never employed a colored man until after their emancipation, [[strikethrough]]and[[/strikethrough]] or who had been employed as overseers &c

Not having had facilities for obtaining information except by and through the statements of freedpeople and a few reliable whites I am unable to furnish a more complete report. Mr. Connelly Sub. Asst. Commr. is now making a tour through this Sub. Dist and will report when he returns.
