Cases Originating in this Sub Dist.
Complaint of various kinds have been made at this office during the present month - the majority of such by freedmen concerning settlement for labor, and failure in obtaining the same for last year.
Also complaints have frequently been made both by the employed & employers in relation to contracts in case of violation of the same by one of the parties. In many of these cases, those concerned have been duly summoned and judgement rendered. it is hoped in accordance with the merits of the case. Other difficulties, and especially those arising at considerable distance from this office, have been referred to the proper magistrate for investigation & consequent action.

Abuse of the Freedmen.
A number of complaints of this nature have been reported at this office, during the month, all of which have been promptly referred to the civil authorities, with such recommendations as the cases appeared to demand.

Schools.
The school at Eufaula has been the only one in this sub Dist. reported here during the month. The teacher of this school Mr J Hinchie, has failed to prove as efficient as
