General
The Business of the Office is increasing very rapidly. I have rented an Office in Livingstone the county seat of this County, and in another month my entire attention will be required there.

My Expenses both personal and those incurred for this office are numerous and heavy in addition to my personal expenses I have incurred other necessary expenses for Advertising. Office Rent. Office furniture. Stationery and Postage.

I have approved the contracts for nearly one thousand Freedmen, But as I understand it I am required to turn the amount received for Approving Contracts over to the Government. But the Amount thus received will not pay near all my Expenses, neither does it occupy one tenth part of my time, nor does the examination of contracts compose one tenth part of the Labors of the Office. I am Agent or Attorney for the whole Freedman population. And in addition I settle almost every dispute arising
