In compliance with your communication dated May 31st, ordering a "General Report" I have the honor to state as follows, 
The sub-District of Greenville, embraces the Counties of Butler, Pike, Crenshaw, Coffee, Covington and Conecuh. The business of the Bureau is conducted at Greenville, Butler Co, by the Sub-Ass't Commissioner, and one clerk. It includes the ordinary duties of a Bureau Agent, besides those of A.A.Q.M. and A.C.S.
Sub Asst Commissioner Sam. S. Gardner was assigned to the charge of this sub District by S.O. No. 11 dated February 2nd 1867. He entered upon the duties of the Office February 13th 1867. From that time until May 31st the operations of the Bureau have Comprised Hearing and Investigating the following complaints
