Sir;
In accordance with instructions contained in a Communication from Head Qrs Montgomery Ala, May 31st 1867. I have the honor to make the make the following report of the business done in this Office from the 18th of June, on which date I entered upon the duties of 
Sub-Ass't Commissioner to the 1st of July instant.

There have been eleven complaints made by Freedmen during this period. Of this number six have been acted upon directly from this Office, three have been referred to the Civil Authorities, and two have been reported to the Sub-Ass't Commissioner District of Alabama.

Six hundred and forty four (644) sacks of corn from the N.Y.S.F. Relief association have been received, in addition to a considerable quantity left on hands by Sam. S. Gardner my predecessor. There were also 2 (two) hhds bacon left by him.

Of these supplies, there have been distributed
