Several Colored men have been assaulted in this County for voting.

Those who have dismissed their laborers have done so with utter disregard for their written Contracts, and without paying a cent for their labor.

There has been much complaint about settlements for last year's labor, and many laborers are anxiously waiting for a change in the Civil officers so they can collect the money due them. They nearly all abstain from putting their claims in the hands of officers for collection, because they fear from past experience that they will not get justice.

A Colored man was found in the road a short distance from town killed. No trace could be found of the murderer.
