I have the honor to report herewith, the operations of the Bureau R.F.A.L. In this Sub District. For the month ending 30th November 1868.
I am credibly informed that two colored men have been murdered in this county. And that one colored man was taken from the guard house at Fort Deposit, Lowndes county, murdered, and his head severed from his body to prevent his being identified. 
I am also informed that a school house and a church used by freedmen in this county and a colored peoples school house in Crenshaw county have been burned by incendiaries during the month; and also that inoffensive colored people have been assaulted and upon one occasion several colored person were robbed of their arms by unlawfully armed bands of men who reside in this county. Now of the warrants that have been issued for the arrest of different parties in this county since last August. Have been executed. The Judge of Probate has left the place to escape violence from the hands of lawless persons. The civil law has ceased to be any protection and we have no claim upon the military authorities. Persons are not arrested in this
