Dist. for Ala. Huntsville Ala. Oct. 31st 1866

General: 
In compliance with Circular No. 2. dated Head Quarters Sub. District of Alabama, Montgomery Alabama Oct. 10th 1866, I have the honor to submit the following annual report for the year ending this day. I was assigned to duty of this place by the following order.

No. 4.        }

"Bvt. Col. John B.  Callis 7th V.R.C. having in compliance with orders from Maj. General O. O. Howard Commissioner Bureau Refugees Freedmen & AL, reported to this office, is hereby assigned to duty as superintendent of Refugees Freedmen and Abandoned Lands, for the District of Huntsville Alabama, relieving Chaplain T.M. Goodfellow 101th U.S.C.T.
He will proceed at once to the station assigned him, Q.M. Dept will furnish transportation for self and authorized number of servants.

I releived [[relieved]] Chaplain T.M. Goodfellow on the 16th day of January 1866, the Dist. of Huntsville Ala. named in the above order, which in other orders is called the dist. of Northern Ala. embraces all the territory lying in the State of Ala. between the 24th and 25th paralels [[parallels]] of latitude and include the following named Counties to wit, Blount, Cherokee, De Kalb, Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Limestone Lawrence, Madison, Marion, Marshall, Winston and Morgan,
