Maj Genl Wager Swayne,
Asst. Comr B.R.F. & A.L.
Montgomery Ala.,

General:
The supplies of Corn and Bacon lately received and distributed to the needy of my district have met a pressing want, and are hailed with joy by hundreds of helpless sufferers. The large amount of supplies damaged by the flood, necessarily diminished the issue; but the remainder was distributed as nearly as possible in a fair proportion, as my report of issues will show.
Nearly all the damaged corn has been sold and the following is a statement of the facts relative thereto.
