In compliance with Circular No. 11 dated "State of Ala. B.R.F. & A.L., Montgomery, Ala. Feby 19, 1868", I have the honor to submit the following

General Report of Bureau and Freedmen's Affairs.

The business of the Bureau, in the above named Sub District, has progressed smoothly, during the month now closed. since the resumption of the civil supremacy, and the removal of the old County and State officer, much of the most difficult labor of the office has become a thing of the past. Colored complainants in cases of trespass, assault, debt &c are now referred directly to the civil officer, who, where sufficient cause of action appear, commence proceeding at once. It appears to me that the Freedmen of the Country have now great cause of gratulation; they have been raised from the vilest servitude, to the rank of face American Citizens.
