Sir:
I have the honor to submit the following report of operations of the Bureau in this Sub-District for the month ending June 30" 1868.

Destitution
The County Poor House contains (160) One hundred and sixty inmates, of whom one half are colored. The cost to the County for June amounts to $625.26

The Chairman of the Board of Charities states that he supplies outside paupers to the number of about four hundred and fifty (450) whites and twenty (20) colored at a cost to the county of $679.65/100 per month.

The relief furnished by the Government is confined to the City and remains about the same - averaging eleven hundred and five (1105) persons daily, and costing for the month of June $1035 36/100.

The following table will afford a very close approximation to actual destitution as prevailing in Mobile County:
