I have the honor herewith to forward my report for the month ending 31st August A.D. 1865.

The past month has been one of marked progress. Though the changes in the district may not have been so rapid as desirable. Yet steps have been taken in the right direction and there is satisfaction in knowing that an advance has been made. 

Hospitals
Provision for the care and comfort of the sick has been greatly enlarged. systemized and improved. This change has been brought about in two ways. 1st. By the acquisition of two additional Surgeons Dr's J. Schatz and R. Beaudry who have been assigned to duty in this District. 
2nd. By the acquisition of one additional Hospital and the improvement caused by changing the post Hospital from the building formerly occupied, to Montgomery Hall. This building is well adapted for Hospital purposes and will afford ample accommodations for all patients who require treatment in hospital. To this and
