There has been secured, I trust, efficient Agents for the important points of the counties of Bibb, Shelby & Jefferson.

Captain Stanley 34th N.J. who is Provost Marshal of these counties, & constantly passing and re-passing has consented to give us his services whenever they may be required. He will make known to proper Agents all cases of abusive treatment or injustice which come under his notice. 

I cannot speak in too high praise of the manly character of the Officers of the Regiment and their willingness to give our cause their earnest attention. Their interest in the work will lead them to be both vigilant & just. Learning that the Freedmen of Montevallo have had no one to address them as to their duties or adress with them as to their future course, I left anxious to spend the Sabbath with them.
