Sir

In compliance with instructions contained in your Letter dated Head Qrs Dist of Alabama, Montgomery Ala May 31st 1867, I have the honor to make the following reports

I think the freedmen have worked very well during last month, as there have been very few complaints.

There have been Twentyfive (25) complaints against Employers for discharging Laborers without pay for the time they had Labored. Most of theses cases have been referred to the Justices of the Peace in the Beat where they occurred, and have generally been settled, giving satisfaction to the parties.

The number of destitute to whom rations have been issued during the month is Eight Hundred and Eightyfour (884) White and Six Hundred and Thirtyseven (637) Colord persons
