Sub. Dist. of Opelika B. R. F. and A.L.
Opelika Ala, June 30th 1868

Brvt Brig Gen O.L. Shepherd
Asst. Comm, State of Ala,

Gen,

In pursuance of Circular No. 11 Current Series, I have the honor to submit the following Report of Bureau, and Freedmen's Affairs for the month of June 1868

1st Crops
I am sorry to say that the prospect for a good crop in this Sub. Dist. is not as favorable as heretofore reported. Reports that the crops are very much injured by the Drouth have reached me from various parts of this Sub. Dist.

2" Destitution
A number of destitute persons have applied to me for relief since I have been in charge of this Sub. Dist, principly the old and infirm who have no Friends or Relatives who can take care of them

3rd Feeling between the Races
From what I have been able to learn the feeling between the Races is not as bitter as heretofore reported - doubtless owing to the recent change in political affairs
