I have the honor to submit the following Report of Bureau operations, and Freedmen's affairs, in this Sub Dist, for the month of August 1868

Crops. It seems to be, the opinion of most Farmers with whom I have conversed, that the Cotton Crop was very nearly on average, and that there will not be more than half an average crop of Corn.

Destitution. There does not seem to be any need of public charity, for any but those who are unable to work, and haven't any other means of living, of which Class, there is a large number.

The feeling between the races appears to be of a more friendly nature than heretofore reported, especially upon the part of the "late Rebels," who are resorting to every thing, which they think will enable them to controll the votes of the Col. Men in the coming Presidential
