It is too after the case that the Planter expects his hireling to do his work under the same strict rulings of former years. and in trying to consul him in this, he drives him from him, and with him, many who sympathize with him,- It is a rare occurance to learn of a man leaving his employer, especially if under contract, without some good reason - There is a general disposition on the part of Freedmen to work, and work faithfully too-

The women are many of them kept from the fields, and in idleness, by their husbands, which is resulting in many little troubles among them and with the employer, who is required to furnish their Rations, and they non producers,
