There is little hope of opening new schools for children of Refugees and Freedmen, in the Sub-Dist. without aid of money and teachers from the Government. The Am. Miss. Asso" is paying small salaries to a few teachers here. Further aid cannot be expected from them, they claiming it as their part of the educational work to prepare persons for teaching. It is feared that two schools in the county will be obliged to close soon for want of support for teachers.

The business of the Bureau has been as satisfactory as during the previous months. The vacancies existing in the offices of Justice and Constables, retard its work.
