will prevent the Freedmen in a great many cases from obtaining their just dues.
Few schools are in session. Those which have been closed, will, it is believed, open on the commencement of the regular school year, the first of October. Frequent enquiries are being made as to what the Bureau proposes to do in aid of schools. The aid heretofore rendered has been so meagre that no good teacher could be found to take in charge a colored school. Income from colored people  sending children cannot be relied upon. It is only in the larger places where tuition has been a support at all sure.
