I have had great feares for some time that a disturbence would occur in this place, caused by the abuse of the F.M. & Union Men, by a little Newspaper Published here, the main object of which seems to be to stir up strife.
As to the condition of the (F.M.) in regard to Provisions, I think that they are getting along fully as well as if there was provisions to Iss, for when that is the case many of both colors do not make the exceptions they otherwise would, I would further Report that on the 18th of Feb. I received for Iss. to the Cold Inmates of the Insane Hospital 72 Sacks of Corn, Weighing 1,891. lb. also 2645 lb of Bacon Weighing 3141. the deficiency I at once Reported to the officer sending it here from Selma. C.C. Bartlett and as I see by the Regulations that it is my duty I report the Same to you.
