I have the honor to transmit herewith my weekly report 
The Freedman I Spoke of in my last weeks report as Being Shot By one Tim [[strikethrough]] Hughs [[/strikethrough]] Davis is doing well and will probably recover. [[strikethrough]] Hughes [[/strikethrough]] Davis was arragned Before Wm Daughert and Stark Both Being J P. 
Charged with Shooting the Freedman with a Gun to which charge he pleaded guilty and introduced two Witnesses in palliation. it was Shown By two Witnesses that the negroe was makeing at [[strikethrough]] Hughes [[/strikethrough]] Davis with a drawn Axe and while the negroe was approaching [[strikethrough]] Hughes [[/strikethrough]] Davis Shot him. he Still continued to approach when [[strikethrough]] Hughes [[/strikethrough]] Davis called for another gun the negroe then threw down the Axe and ran this is about Substance of the Evidence [[strikethrough]] Hughes [[/strikethrough]] Davis was Cleared and Set at liberty. with the exceptions of this case all has been quiet Since my last
