In the Freedmans Bureau Before Col. Callis Supt at Huntsville Alabama Madison County}

Personally appeared before me Milton Williams Alias Camel Clay a freedman who makes oath that the following statement is true and correct and which he is ready to verify by proof

That on the 14th day of November 1865 he purchased of Frank Hoaldin a freedman in the county of Madison State of Alabama Two Hundred and Sixty two and 1/2 pounds of cotton at 40c per pound for which he paid said Frank Hoaldin One Hundred and and four dollars for which he took his receipt and now has in his possession said receipt properly stamped.

That on the same 14th day of Novr 1865 - the Pff Milton Williams alias Camel Clay freedman aforesaid and Frank Holdin as aforesaid and one Jim Lord Freedman were arraigned before Maj Goodfellow Supt of the Freedmans Bureau on a charge of gambling or playing at cards and were each fined the Sum of twenty dollars which this Plaintiff paid and which he is ready to verify.
