I have the honor to state that last October, while I was Superintendent &c at Herntonville, a cold boy by teh name of Simion Smith got into a quarrel and drew a revolver on a man, I had him arrested, but did not punish him further than take away his pistol, and refused to return it- telling him it was "confiscated" this was simply the words I used. I acted in conjunction with Capt Kenedy Dist P Marshall, who has issued an order forbidding any one to carry such weapons. At the time the boy was insolent or I might have given it back.
