I herewith enclose the statements of some of these parties in regard to the before mentioned transactions.

I would here suggest, that means [[crossed out]] ought to [[/crossed out]] may be taken, not only to recover the stores improperly disposed of by Capt Steinberg, but also stores; which I have reason to believe were disposed of by the Superintendent of the Home Colony at Garland - Mr. Mastin by name

I endeavoured to conduct the whole investigation in such a manner that no exceptions could have been taken by Capt.
