There are no guards on government property at Selma.  I called Lt. Shockleys attention to the fact, he said his Company had been nearly all sick but that now he could furnish guards for Quartermasters Stable, and Storehouse.

I inspected the hospital for freedmen at Selma under charge of Dr. Hood it was not in very good order but as Dr. Kipp made inspection himself and gave the necessary order further remarks will be unnecessary.

1 Clerk, Sick (over a month not on duty, for) $100.00
1 Laborer  $30.00
1 Laborer Grave digger   $25.00
1 Watchman (ought to be discharged and guard placed on Stores)  $20.00
Rent of Office  $35.00

Lt Shockley is organizing the Bureau at Selma into something like system heretofore neither regular records of the office business, or complaint book have been kept.
The bureau property is in the hands of Lieut Shockley is comprized in the enclosed list of "Property at Selma in charge of Lt. Shockley."
