Visionary Landscape
The role of keeper and interpreter for the dream is not a new one for the artists. Guided by instinct, they have documented their inner journeys and visions, both idyllic and apocalyptic, throughout recorded history.

Visionary Landscapes assembles a group of artists whose work transforms the landscape in imaginative or symbolic ways. The exhibition, which was curated by the Woman's Building Gallery Committee primarily from slides on file in our own slide library, will open March 27 with a reception from 7 to 9 p.m.

Rotunda Repeat. The Los Angeles City Commission on the Status of Women was so pleased with the quality and vitality of the art work shown in last year's Women's History Month Exhibit that they have invited the Woman's Building to organize another for this year. The work will again be displayed in the City Hall Rotunda throughout March. Please call (213) 221-6162 or write for a prospectus for the show. A SASE should be enclosed with your request.

Homage to Frida. During the Course of the Gallery Committee's ongoing review of slides submitted to the Woman's Building, we began to notice that almost every month we would see a piece of work that incorporated an image of or made reference in some way to Friday Kahlo. More than any other artist, her image has become a personal icon, and her life a symbol for struggle to the current generation of artists. The Woman's Building will pay tribute to this remarkable woman and her powerful presence in May of 1987 by presenting an exhibit of work that makes reference to her.

The Woman's Building Gallery Committee will be accepting slides for screening for this exhibit through February 28, 1987. Send up to 5 slides with a SASE.

Photo Show. A national juried photography exhibit is scheduled to take place at the Woman's Building Gallery in June 1987. To obtain a prospectus write to the Woman's Building and send a SASE.
