be water tight. We should have a speed of about 10 knots without aid of sail? Or do you think less would do.

III. In some ways it seems best to build if we can keep the price around $700 as Mr. Jerrett says. We should probably like to sail down to Humbermouth on the way home and lay her up there, unless you think this is unwise. I understood from Mr. Williams that there is a lot of interesting territory on the west coast of N.F. & I understand that the trip is not dangerous and could be made by hurrying thru in about the same time the Home takes. - 3 or 4 dys. This If this is not correct tell me about it. IF we build would you supervise the construction. I shall have plans drawn out telling just what you feel we should have. Will you tell me your opinion on the following:

(a) What is the best length considering that we shall use her two or three seasons and shall not want to be uncomfortably crowded?
(b) What beam.
(c) What draft.
(d) Where should you place the engine?
(e) How many cylinders & what horsepower engine.
(f) Wuold you advise my buying th engine here & sending her up to you? We can get bargains in slightly used engines? How about duty on second hand motors.

I have asked very much of you but I know you want to help me and I sgall be glad to reimburse you for the much time it will take to look after the building. I am anxious to make decision as soon as possible and feel easy about having her in good shape awaiting us on our arrival. Dr. Bennett is going to be able to put Fred's teeth in good condition. Don't forget to get all the pictures you can for illustrations. I shall come up with more cameras than ever and shall hope to help you with some good ones.

Shall anxiously await your advise and shall you know by return mail. Hoping you are all well,

Very truly yours
