DR. JOHN V. MERSHON
DR. JOHN W. ROSS
1520 SPRUCE STREET

May 9th, 1930.

Dr. Leuman Waugh,
576 Fifth Avenue,
New York, N. Y.

Dear Leuman:

I am coming over to New York Tuesday afternoon but we are going to spend the night with Colonel and Mrs. Hunt on Governor's Island--- Dr. Hunt's parents. I shall be at the meeting early Wednesday morning.

There are quite a number of things that I should like to go over with you regarding the course next November. I am going to tell you some of the things which I believe it is wise to change. One is, I question the value of the collateral lectures which we had at our last meeting. I think we could use the time to much better advantage by having a greater opportunity to demonstrate on patients and I want to spend more time personally with the men on the making of their auxiliary springs. I find there is a great amount of fine details which they don't get.

Dr. Ross and I have talked this matter over and we are quite agreed that the men actually doing the work, is needed, and more practical demonstrations will do them the most good.

I am telling you this in advance so that when I see you at the meeting you will have had an opportunity of thinking the matter over.

Looking forward to seeing you and hoping that by next week the weather will be less severe, I remain

As ever yours,
