Dr. C. C. Messner,
U.S. Public Health Service,
Treasury Department,
Washington, D.C.

Dear Doctor Messner:

The revised manuscript arrived duly, and I am pleased with the improvement made in the wording. I have given much thought to its publication. Naturally I am most anxious to have it as nearly complete and authentic as possible. There were three important settlements that we did not succeed in visiting last year, that must be added, and I shall check up on my report on the other ones, so as to correct any errors. I have also listed a number of additional illustrations that I want to get this year. In consideration of this I trust you will agree with me in that publication can be deferred until October or November. Among the other things I want to show the dental operating room. I shall do it by a combination of photos and drawings and it can be nicely done, I feel sure.

Awaiting your preference with unusual interest,

Very truly yours,
