in her car after Irma drove us down to the cemetery so she told Mrs Barry Monday when they were going to Boston together. she was alway good to take me to places when she lived in the neighborhood.
Meat is growing scarcer every day. we are going to have beans for our dinner to day & lettuce & tomatoes sliced & a baked pudding of some ginger cakes & raisins. we have managed so far to feed ourselves in spite of the shortage of food. Merril Hill the one who bought the Pennomin place, has killed off 10 of his hens on account of the shortage of grain. so Laura told us she said she had bought three bags of grain down at the little store below us on the corner. we called Laura up this morning to order eggs so far she has supplied us.
Norma Laynie has had all her teeth out so now she cannot sing in the choir, she called up & told Mrs Barry last night & said she was pleased to have met her sister Josephine. they called on Addie yesterday
Mrs Balder came over here last Thursday she came to show me her baby who is a darling, she is very proud of her little daughter & well she might be, its a wonderful little child laughing most all the time.
I am glad you are having such good times going to places & shall be glad to have you come home soon on your yearly vacation. love Ma
