Stoughton March 18th, 1946

Dear Doris

This is the warmest morning we have had yet. it was 50° early on the porch. our snow storm of Monday morning & night(three inches of snow) went quick after Tuesdays warm sun. so she went down town to her beauty parlor in the afternoon & mailed Sidneys union suite & hope he got it by this time & found it satisfactorily mended. I got the little package of [[caramels]] that were inside the bundle & they tasted fine.

I also found the sugar cupon [[coupon]]  in my letter. we can get sugar down at the little corner store, they keep lots of things there that will come in handy.

Perdigas sent us a roast of beef & some oysters & a large bag of white flour. some squash which will taste mighty good. he inquired about me when she went into the store yesterday. he was the man who we got to put up the little stove & he happened to be there tending the customers when she went in to see if she could get any oriole. they are good to save things for us, being regular customers. 

Today is Ash Wednesday & she will go down to church tonight. they have to fast, no meat eaten by them today. Being so nice a day yesterday I went out to look around the year to see how
