I am sure we shall have better weather soon but no signs of it now for everything is covered with snow & we think this has been a terrible had winter & will be glad to see spring once more.

I have been sewing but those books you sent in my birthday box I guess will take up my time most of the day. Mrs Barry gave me a book as a present on my birthday, which was also very interesting.

Little Jackie is not well. he has asthma so bad if his heart is affected a cold may turn into pneumonia and he wont live to be very old. Pete too is very ambitious. its a pity he bought the land next to us. he works there so hard, it makes his leg bad & has to go to the hospital for varicose veins.

We have lots of wind this winter it keeps us awaik nights & then a zero day sets in. I have to go into the front chamber to sleep such nights. I would much rather sleep in my room though but the wind prevents my sleeping.

We are lucky to dry our clothes before this storm sets in. that porch is fine for them in bad weather. We had some canned sausages that were very good & were lucky to get a roast of lamb & also some oreole this week. no sugar though. but plenty of molasses so far, she will order some more the last of this week. the little store down below with be very handy to us
love Ma.
