You pore dear children

I'd just sent off a letter to Ralph before your 2 came, in which I remarked at the close that this had been a blanketety-blank year for the whole Blake family - or words to that effect, and I'm more convinced of it than ever after reading your letter, and the Blakes seem to have included their wives & husbands in the bad luck, too. I'm going right to work on the little sweater & will try to get it finished in a hurry. I made a good guess at it. I'd already started; its at 20 inches & I think as it it so elastic & you measured loosely that I'll let it go at 20 inches for it should fit snugly. I'm also making her some wash cloths of cheese cloth & what else do you suppose she'd like. My! I wish I could see her. I sympathize with you Doris in having to give up your work for I know how
interested you were & your pride in what you were accomplishing but probably the baby is worth it and anyway its the most important thing in the world now you've brought her into it, that she has a good
start anyway. Yes your food & your general condition of mind & body have a lot to do with her colic. But how is anyone
