[August 1928]

My Dear Children all three of you,

Your letter containing the tremendous news was received a long time ago and should have been answered at once but somehow it was'nt. My congratulations to you Doris & Sidney and to the poor little pilgrim, my condolences and tell her from me its a heluva world she has come to. Let us hope she will be luckier than some of us & get through it all right. Does she object to the climate. You ask her if she would'nt rather live out here. It's a much better place to bring up little children I wish she would use her influence with you to bring her out here. I am not certain whether this letter will reach you before you leave for New England or not but anyway it will be forwarded. We have moved into L.A. into a four room flat in a very pretty court where there are lawns & flowers & trees & shrubs. Its not in the heart of L.A. - out quite a way. Will give you the new address before I forget it 1702 16/20 West Blvd L.A.
