Dear Sidney,

Your letter has just come and I am going to answer it now. There is 'nt much I can do these days and I'm glad to get letters and answer them, I'm glad you told me all about it - all about every thing. Ralph's letter told me some of it but not all. One cannot wish him back - that was the way I fell about Frances I hoped she would not outlive her eyes but she had lost the sight of one eye completely and the other was much affected - due to the pressure from the enlarged pituitary body & pineal gland at the base of the brain. They were not in the condition your father was though. She could still see to read. There is'nt usually much to live for when one gets old, unless one has very good health for that matter there is'nt any way, without health I think, or some degree of it. Frances lived only nine days after she was stricken with the cerebral hemorrhage but she had had so many illnesses and operations & was in
