paralysis.. and I suppose it was that in your fathers case. Poor Walter, I wish I could have seen him again. I felt so bad when Ralph telegraphed me he was asking for me but I consoled myself with thinking it was probably only a part of his restlessness and desire to have some thing to take up his mind and that I could'nt do any thing for him ever if I were there. He had his family around him anyway, I'm the only one left now of mine and if it wern't [[weren't]] for you and Ralph I'd feel as though I had no one belonging to me  Egbert of course - but I mean relatives.

I wish I did'nt [[didn't]] live so far away from you. I feel so sorry for your mother. Don't you think her mind is weakened by her condition so that she does not feel it so keenly as she would have years ago. She felt so terribly
