stop and let us go. My heart gave me a little trouble with this "flu" affair and at first I thought I was dying and was much surprised that anyone of my family should die from heart failure. No such luck. That's all over with now. Just weakness caused it.

I'm sorry all the money Frances left him is gone. As you say Walter had not the faculty for making or keeping money. And he did not inherit any from either his father or mother. Neither of them had it at all. Grandfather Fay was a shrewd business man, and left a lot of money. Mother lost a good share of hers in unfortunate investments - and being too spineless with people who just took advantage of her. Walter had some splendid chances to make money. Grandfather Fay would have taken him into the bank with him. He was the president. Uncle Sidney had a large whole sale coal business, & Uncle Charles, some kind of a big whole sale business I've forgotten what but they both left a lot of money. They all offered him a good position. Father wanted him to go to college and then study dentistry & take over his practice, father was ranked as one of the two best dentists in Boston & had the high-mucky-mucks of the city & state as his patients.
