vs
A.L. Riupeau

In this case Esley Staley
personally appeared before me C.R.S. Simpson one of the acting Justice of the Peace in and for the county and state aforesaid to me well known and when I certify to a man of quality and and credibility who after being duly sworn states upon his oath that he weighed to Harris a Freeman the plaintiff, in this case a fat hog raised in the farm of the Deft. A.L. Riupeau out of the effects of said Riupeau weighed the same on the 23rd day of December 1865.  said hog weighed (164 lb) one hundred and sixty four pounds net Jany 6th 1866.

In this case personally appeared before me Harris a Freed-Man who after being duly sworn according to Lewis states upon his oath that he was [[a word crossed out]] at the defendant A.L. Riupeaus in the month of (April) 1865 as well as, he recalled, and [[?]] the [[?]] Riupeau say to plaintiff Harris and all of his Family that they [[?]] leave him if they choosed but if they prefered to stay that he Riupeau would do for them as he had [[?]] cloth and them  Jany 6th 1866
