Salsbury, NC April 7th 1866 Received this day of Col C A Cilley Supt of Freedmen (50) fifty pounds of pork or bacon and one barrel of flour which I promise to pay Government price for to Col Cilley or order on or before 1st of September 1866 and I hereby acknowledge a lein on any crops I may raise in favor of the said Col Cilley to secure to him as order the value of the aforesaid rations Samuel Propst Witness WS Wetmore
